Therapist Bio

Jakob Jehn, MS, t-LMHC

Therapist

Jakob is accepting new clients.

I believe in helping my clients learn about and make room for their distressing emotions, assisting them in contacting the present moment, and supporting their engagement in actions they find valuable. I work to help clients develop their psychological flexibility skills so they can better handle the ups and downs of life in ways that work for them long-term.

I have experience working with adults and adolescents addressing a variety of concerns, with a particular focus on treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic, phobias, and anxiety. In session, my clients can expect me to utilize a variety of evidence-based approaches to address their symptoms, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also incorporate Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

I am LGBTQ-affirming and deeply value the diversity of the human experience.

I am passionate about raising awareness and providing support for those living with OCD. At Seva, I created and currently facilitate our Living with OCD Support Group for adults. Additionally, I developed and led Seva’s All About OCD Psychoeducational Group. I also serve on the Board of Directors for OCD Iowa, a non-profit organization focused on advocacy and outreach for OCD and related disorders throughout the state of Iowa.

If you feel you’re ready for some non-judgmental support, I invite you to reach out!

Clinical Areas of Interest: OCD, panic disorder, phobias, generalized anxiety disorder, exposure-based treatments, depression, and grief.
