Kate Klaver, t-LMHC

As a therapist, I offer a supportive and curious presence—someone who’s here to listen, reflect, and help you explore what matters most to you. I believe everyone deserves a life that feels meaningful and aligned with who they truly are. Sometimes we need a bit of support (and a few helpful tools) to move in that direction.

While I utilize multiple evidence-based approaches, my sessions are primarily grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which means we’ll focus on building self-awareness, making room for tough emotions, and getting clearer on your values so you can move toward the life you want.

Therapy with me is collaborative, casual, and always centered on you. I’m here to help you notice patterns, explore stuck points, and find new ways forward—at your own pace. Think of it like tending a garden: sometimes we prune, sometimes we plant, sometimes we sit and notice what’s growing.

I enjoy working with adults and couples across the lifespan, but have specialized experience helping young adults successfully learn to navigate anxiety and uncertainty around early adulthood transitions. Transition is hard, and our path is often uncertain. Whether you are entering college or leaving college, working through the challenges of a relationship, or embarking on a new career, I can support you in learning to explore how you can better understand your thoughts and emotions and use evidence-based skills to move through these experiences with confidence.

In addition to life transitions, I also work with clients seeking support around relationship concerns, depression, mood and anxiety disorders, and LGBTQIA+ issues.

I aim to combine personalized, compassionate care with evidence-based treatments that work. I am trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD.
