Jakob Jehn, Clincial Intern

I am a clinical intern completing my Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have been working in the education field, both K-12 and higher education, since 2018. I am eager to transition into the counseling profession!

I believe in utilizing a collaborative approach while guiding clients through evidence-based treatment. I believe in meeting people where they're at, working to build a plan, and encouraging follow through. In session, clients can expect me to utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, namely tenants from Gestalt Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT). I support my clients in better understanding their symptoms and thinking patterns while promoting accountability, self-compassion, and honesty.

I am receiving specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am leading an Intro to OCD group at Seva and have a particular interest in working with individuals who are experiencing symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Additionally, I am interested in working with clients who present with a variety of mental health concerns such as anxiety, panic, depression, anger, and trauma. I am LGBTQ-affirming.

I am working under the supervision of Megan Wych, MS, LMHC; Shannon Evers, MSW, LISW; and Addison Malinski, MSW, LISW.
