Rachel Espinosa, MS
Rachel will be accepting new clients for November 2025.
I’m a provisionally licensed therapist with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Drake University, dedicated to walking alongside individuals as they navigate life’s challenges, transitions, and moments of growth. I work with clients ages 12 and up, offering a holistic, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach that centers around your lived experience.
I believe therapy is most meaningful when it’s collaborative and grounded in trust—and that real healing happens with compassion and curiosity. I view therapy as a flexible and collaborative process, where we work together to explore your goals at your own pace. I deeply value the strength it takes to show up for yourself and hold space for how challenging—and how beautiful—the human experience can be.
I’ve worked with adolescents and adults across a range of settings, including inpatient, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient programs (IOP). I bring that experience into creating a supportive and attuned space for every client. My approach is rooted in person-centered care, meaning I believe you are the expert of your own life. I integrate techniques from evidence-based practices, including trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), tailoring our work to what resonates with you.
I am committed to fostering a brave space—one where I welcome your truth, affirm your identity, and honor your autonomy. I work with individuals from all backgrounds and experiences, including those who are LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, identity exploration, life transitions, or looking for a space where you can feel truly seen and heard, I’m here to support you. Therapy with me is not about labeling or fixing—it’s about deepening your understanding of yourself, building insight, and developing tools that help you navigate life with greater clarity, confidence, and self-compassion.
When I’m not in session, I enjoy spending time with loved ones and being outdoors. I’m a sports fanatic, dog lover, arts appreciator, ice cream connoisseur, and coffee aficionado.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you! I will be accepting clients with Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, UHC, and Aetna insurance, in addition to private pay.
Rachel will be working under the supervision of Shannon Evers (MSW, LISW) and Megan Wych (MS, LMHC).
